Panacakes; Or, How Alex Lost His Temper

Okay. So Alex didn't really lose his temper. Alex just is not prone to that kind of behavior. But there were panacakes discussed.

A drunken couple came in and began loudly arguing about whether it is "pancakes" or "panacakes." The guy, or Team Panacakes, insisted that there is an "a" in there. The woman, who seemed much more intoxicated and was Team Pancakes, just wanted for him to say 'pan.' "I just wanted you to say 'pan' and you started yelling at me."

Back and forth. Back and forth. The two of them sure knew how to go at it.

Then Alex said, "You are NOT going back to the pancakes thing again!?@?!?!"

And Team Panacakes pointed his fork at our table and said, "SHUT UP."

Then...in an astounding leap of drunken logic, Team Pancakes decided we were going to pay for her meal. All five of us! Including poor Kalei who didn't do anything.

Interestingly, Team Pancakes had already paid for said meal. She demanded an opportunity to chat with Jay anyway. During the interim, she even said, "I think I want my tip back."And after about three minutes of chatting with Jay, during which she informed him that she "used to come here all the time," she declared that they'd "be back." And left...after hugging Andy.

Also an interesting tidbit--Alex did apologize and then Team Pancakes demanded that Alex include Team Panacakes (who is named Joe) in the apology. Once the teams had left, Alex said his apology had been an outright lie and the lady at the booth next to ours laughed right out loud. Also, the mysterious man who has taken to sitting in the other corner took off his headphones.

Then we determined that if Team Panacakes and Team Pancakes does return, we are going to capture them and sell them to the circus so Alex can go to school in the spring.
